Members of the BOCNE attended the unveiling of a new memorial stone at the Veterans' Memorial Park in Raymond, Maine to commemorate S/LT Raymond Laurence Knott RNVR and S/LT Vaughn Reginald Gill RVNR, both of whom lost their lives while on a training mission over Sebago Lake on May 16, 1944.

The event was organized by James Normington of the British Commonwealth Remembrance Project, in coordination with Maine officials spanning multiple organizations.  The service was attended by members of S/LT Gill's family, the British Consul General to New England, members of the United States Navy, the Royal Navy, United States Army, American Legion, Maine Park Rangers, as well as local and state officials.
